Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Paraphernalia in State Park
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Maryland
Me and some friends were traveling to WV to play a show, when we stopped to use the bathroom at a state park reservation rest stop. After using the facilities we hopped back in the van and proceeded to leave. Then we got pulled over by a National reservation cop, we had a bag full of empty beers with plenty of unopened ones, and an open bottle of rum. Three of my bands members (myself included are 19,19, and 18) and the bass play is 26, he supplied the alcohol. When the officer asked if we had anything to drink we willingly confessed, and showed him all the booze. My bass player happened to be AWOL from the military that weekend for the show, and the cop was ex military and noted the seriousness of my bass player's situation. I was asked to step out of the car, and the officer found blunt guts in the bag of empties. He then asked me if there was weed in the car, I said Yes it was in my backpack and showed him everything I had. (~5.5gs, several several old baggies with stems and seeds in them, a grinder, rolling papers, a razor blade for cutting blunts, a pack of cigarillos with 3 missing, and a pipe in a container with a bag of rez scraped out). All 4 of us were then cuffed and the officer said we were being detained. He also said that I would be charged with possession and possession of paraph. After he searched my bag a second time he said he was going to stick to what he originally charged me with (which was possession and possession of paraphernalia) he then said that I would not be arrested that night, and that he would call me the following monday so that I could come meet him to receive my charges. It is now wednesday of the week he is supposed to call and he has not contacted me yet. He let the AWOL military bass player off with one warning for supplying alc. to one minor, the driver who was not drinking got a warning for a tail light, and me and my guitar player got state park underage drinking citations. Considering the circumstances I find it extremely lucky that I and my bass player were not arrested. Does anyone have any advice on my situation??? Should I expect to be charged? It is my first offense.

If the officer said he was going to charge you, it's reasonable to expect that to happen - but all you can do is wait and see.
