Re: What Are Some Specific Laws I Should Know About Emancipation
How old is he? In Texas it makes a difference. As you would know if you had read the stickies as instructed.

BTW, "verbally and mentally abusive" is almost never a valid reason for emancipation, EVEN IF he meets the other qualifications.

Not to sound mean, but the courts won't care what YOU think.

Did you read the stickies, or are you just going to stomp your foot and argue?

yes i read them and yes i am aware that the courts do not care what i think. Also i am not a typical teen i shall sit and listen to what is said and consider my options in this situation. Plus I know that arguing with people that know more about a subject than i do is completely illogical so what would be the purpose of doing it?

If the child is being abused, child protective services needs to be involved.

ok but i am curious as to which would b easier to do and honestly less painful because, although child protective services might take him out of his situation he would then b placed in a foster home till he turns 18 correct?

    Very possibly, yes.

Seriously - emancipation is NOT an option for this child.

Either he's being abused and thus needs to be removed from the home...or he isn't.

okay. In all honesty what would be a definite reason to be emancipated because as far as I have read your reason cannot be just because nor abuse?
