You are free to check with whatever agency is responsible for issuing the license to see what their policies are in relation to criminal histories. There may be information on the agency's website. I'm not going to try to guess exactly what type of license you're attempting to describe.
I have no way of knowing if you're talking about a pending charge, or a charge that's already resolved. If you have recently been charged and have not yet gone to court, consult a local lawyer about options such as deferral or diversion that might allow you to avoid a conviction. The availability of such programs varies by state and... in other states, by county; I expect in Louisiana they vary by parish.
