Theft Larceny

My question involves criminal law for the state of: New York
I'm 17 years old female and yesterday i made the biggest mistake of my life and was caught stealing from h&m the total amount I stole was 85 dollars worth of clothes I was arrested fingerprinted and charged I'm getting an attorney never have I ever had trouble with the law before no record I just want to know what my chances are of this being on my record or it becoming just a violation I was going to
go to college was accepted now because of this it might
not even be an option please someone answer and help
me a little i also had scissors in my bag which doesn't
help me either what should I do
