What Am I Required to Do to Complete Domestic Violence Class Requirements
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Colorado

I got a differed 1 Year Probation on Harassment Domestic Violence related.

Was also court ordered to complete 36-Hours/Classes of Domestic Violence What Not.

Now at the place i am doing my classes Acacia, They passed a new program as of September that if your case is finalized after august you are no longer on Hours and you are on sessions. Sessions is a grading scale of A B C, C is the worst. You have to work your way out of the class by bringing yourself to an A or something similar.

I just found out i was put on sessions. My case was finalized in August but i didnt get enrolled until September, My PO believes im on sessions due to my enroll date.

Now my question is, do i have to literally sit in this class longer than 36-hours because "they" want me to? I was only court ordered to do 36-hours/Classes. Now when i come up on 36-Hours, and i havent made it to an "A" Yet, Do i really have to continue there sessions crap or am i done? They wont give out a certificate of completion until you really "complete" but technically im not court ordered to do anything more than 36 hours.

What do yall think? I think this sessions stuff is to make more money. Im off probation in 6 months.

We can't tell you whether or not the new rules apply to you, as we are unable to review the terms of your probation. When you asked your probation officer, were you told that you needed to meet the current requirement?

Well i was told that if i was on hours that would be alot.. Really didnt say anything.

But my question is, The Judge Court Ordered me to 36-Hours. Do i have to continue going to classes after 36-Hours because of "their" system?

I'm not a lawyer thank god (I couldn't serve the state and my client at the same time -- no person can serve two masters? (I would screw the state every time), and I don't work for any state, thank god.

But I will say this... Obviously this is the exact question you should pose to your PO in a phone call you can make tomorrow!... I know they beat around the bush when you talk to them... The fact of the matter is they are 'nobody', they think they know more than lawyers and judges do, but do NOT be fooled... If you cannot get a direct answer to your question I would highly suggest that your lawyer make that same call to them... Your PO will likely get their panties in a bunch over that but at least "YOU WILL BE CLEAR"...

Also, if a Judge ordered 36 hours - and the "new deal" was not enforced at the time of the signing, and the "new deal" is not retroactive (ALL QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD ASK IN THE ABOVE) - you have 6 months left on probation... -- once a week @ about 1.5hours per "class" is 6 hours per month and 36 hours for the duration of your probation... (you correct the math, I don't know your convict date vs. sign up date with "class".) The bottom line is this... Your PO will make you do anything they want you to do until your probation is expired. -- So get going -- ask the questions directly... (or if you're like me... F-them, have your lawyer ask them & put their panties in a bunch...)

If your probation runs out, and you're doing what you're supposed to be doing and your PO doesn't try and PV you for some garbage reason to extend you out until you complete your "indoctrination"... You are done with it.

Like I say, you need to check with others closer to your case and let my comments sort of guide you to the questions you should ask of them... That's the best I can do...

B.T.W... Hear this. DV law is a money grab in it's entirety and is completely 100% unconstitutional as far as I am concerned... DV is 100% political, fraudulent and a direct assault on men, and men only in this country as orchestrated by the national orginization for women / gay and lesbian groups attacking traditional marriage or traditional foundations of this country when your 3 dollar dumba$$ bill clinton signed the fed version into law in the mid 90's... (That's what a confused liberal democrat will do! But I suppose you didn't see that one coming did you? -- maybe you were sleeping?).

Having said all of that.... I SAY, "IF" you do the crime, you do the time, I have no sympathy for you... Only you know as you look in 'your mirror' every morning. (what does that mirror tell you, 'really'...)

    Good luck.
