Will My Expunged Charges Show Up in a Background Check
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Pennsylvania
I was charged and arrested for public intoxication and conspiracy to commit criminal mischief, both are summary offenses. I plead guilty and was released. Then i appealed and had the charges dismissed after being a good citizen for a few months. The case was then expunged.
So, my question is what is going to show up on a background check for this? Do I have to answer yes to questions regarding "have I ever been arrested or convicted?" Since it was expunged can I answer no? If it shows up on a record check and I answered no, will this be a major issue for jobs?
Re: Will My Expunged Charges Show Up in a Background Check
It really depends on who is doing the background check. They are not all equal, and some things, even if expunged, will still appear to entities like law enforcement, many government agencies, and licensing boards of certain professions.

yeah, that's kind of what I had figured with the internet and all. How bad are these charges to employers in your opinions?
Also, how does a DUI show up if there is only an arrest and I did a diversion so there was never a conviction? Similar to the other charges?
