    U.S. Citizenship and Unemployment

    Hello,
I have a question regarding US citizenship and unemployment. I am applying for US citizenship. I was unemployed in 2001. Should I include this information in my N-400 form or should I include only work experience during last 5 years? Thanks for you response.

You mean for Part 6? The instruction is,
    Quote:

Quoting Information About Your Residence and Employment.
    B. List where you have worked (or, if you were a student, the schools you have attended) during thelast five years. Include military service. If you worked for yourself, write ''self employed.'' Begin with your most recent job. Also, write the dates when you worked or studied in each place.

The instruction asks you to describe periods of work. Any time not accounted for, presumably, will be assumed to be a period of unemployment. I doubt it would hurt to specify periods of unemployment, but that's not what you are instructed to do.
