How Can I Get Out of a Lease
My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Ohio
I am being relocated and need to get out of my lease early. I figured since I was a great tenant that my landlord would let me out with some kind of penalty. But he is saying that I am on the hook until my lease is up and that is in September, I move in March. How can I get out of this lease.
Also what will happen if I just leave and do not pay him?
Re: How Can I Get Out of a Lease
If you leave and don't pay I would expect that your landlord will sue you for the rent you owe and get a judgment against you.
Does your lease permit subletting? Have you made any effort to find a tenant who might take over your lease?
