Marijauna Possession Michigan
Kalamazoo, Michigan. I was caught with Marijauna about two weeks ago and was released with out any paper work, nor did I sign anything.
Yesterday I recieved a letter telling me that a warrant had been issued for my arrest and I could go to court to turn myself in. The letter did not list any charges.
This would be my first offense. I understand that I will probably be offered some form of probation under Michigan's 7411 law. I would, however, like to avoid a long period of drug testing.
Could I elect to simply accept the charges of possesion of marijuana, and pay the fine (as I understand up to 2000?) and go on my merry way? How much would that fine really be? What reprecussions will follow if I do elect to accept the charges?

If you are convicted of a drug offense, there can be significant effects on you, including driver's license sanctions and barriers against obtaining student loans. If you really can't go a few months without using you may well be better off pleading guilty than violating your probation; but that's something you should decide in consultation with a lawyer.
