Background Check for Daycare
My question involves a background check in the State of: Louisiana. I was arrested for less than $20 worth of items from a retail store. My lawyer got my court date pushed back to show I won't be in anymore trouble and hopefully complete a diversion program or have the case dismissed for good behavior. I'm 7 months pregnant and graduating in may from college so I'm praying that I can get this taken care of within the next couple of months. I have worked with kids all my life and have many great references and credentials. I applied at a day school for part time work until i graduate. They only asked if I had been convicted of a crime which I have not. You have to turn in a fingerprint card and wait til results come back before you can begin work. I was wondering will this petty theft keep me from being hired although nothing has been convicted of yet? I think the lady would be very understanding of I explained but i don't want to unless it shows up. I wouldn't think it would since they are mainly looking for pedifiles and violent and drug charges. I made a mistake but am trying to move on with my life and praying this doesn't hinder me in anyway. Was seeing if anyone knows of this will show up now and if it would keep me from getting work dealin with a petty theft under $20.
Re: Background Check for Daycare
Whether or not an arrest and pending court date will show on a background check depends entirely on how deep and thorough a check is done. All background checks are not created equal.
