Emancipation of an 18 Year Old in New Jersey
My question involves guardianship in the State of: New Jersey. I have an 18 year old daughter who lives with me. I do not receive any nor do I pay any child support. if she drops out or is kicked out of high school can she be Emancipated.

a person becomes an adult at the age of 18 in NJ.

Are there any child support orders. I know you said you don't get any nor pay any but that doesn't mean somebody shouldn't be paying. Where is the other parent?

Is there something else involved here or do you simply want to stop supporting your child should they leave high school and are 18 or older?

It's still a crime if a child steals from a parent. If you can prove it, she can be prosecuted.

evict her as a landlord would a tenant.
