Help with petty theft, 484 A
Hi I was arrested for petty theft at JC penny’s for the amount of $52.00. I have no criminal records. I have never done anything like this. These shirts were on sale for 8 dollars, but they charged me for the full price. I was arrested with police. I am very worried about this situation. I do not want it to be on my records. I called few places for lawyers and they all asking for $3000.00 or more. I can not afford this kind of money right. Any kind of help would be so appreciated. What can I do for this to be reduced to Infraction? Can someone post some kind of miracle for me and relief me from this misery? I live in southern California.

    Thank you

If your means are insufficient to retain private counsel, consider applying for a court-appointed lawyer.

You can check with the clerk's office for the criminal court to see if you can petition for a lawyer in advance of your court date.
