Missing Interviews with Unemployment Due to Late Notice
My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Maryland

Another problem I've been having (see other thread about 18-month issue) with the state of Maryland.

3 times now, they have sent me letters, with a 'response' required, and no time to complete said response.

First was a letter informing me of a call they were scheduling with me. I received it on a Saturday evening. The call was scheduled for Tuesday morning. I was to be on an airplane during that time to go TO AN INTERVIEW, and therefore couldn't take the call. The only way to reschedule officially was to send a letter that had to be received by MONDAY. Not possible without extremely expensive same-day fedex. I tried calling the phone line 4 times during the day to discuss this. After being on hold for 30 minutes each time, it hung up on me.

Second time, I received a letter at 2pm on a day, informing me of a scheduled call at 9am that morning. A bit late.

Third time just happened. Where I got a letter in the mail today (1/13), stating that I needed to fill out additional forms, and mail them to Delaware of all places (why Delaware?). And that they had to be received in Delaware by, get this, 1/13, or else my benefits would again be denied.

    This is crazy.

Yes, it is. When was the letter postmarked? If you haven't resolved the issue, did you hang on to the envelope?

The letter was postmarked on the 12th, arrived on the 13th, stating that information was available on the 13th. And yes, I saved the envelope in case it became a fight later about why I didn't have the paperwork in time.

Issue isn't resolved because I can never get ahold of anyone on the phone. All calls into the Unemployment line lead to it hanging up on me because all the lines are full. always.
