Surveillance Laws and Privacy
Hello there, I need some help please. Im 19 and from the UK. Today the community police came round because there had been reports of my younger sisters 15-16 and thier same aged and younger friends drinking. According to sources they have this information because aparently neighbors have been filming them and taking pictures. Now i was wondeirng wether i should report that the neighbors (mainly old women) are taking pictures of children from the ages of 10-16 maybe a few younger. Also should i report that they are breaching my sisters and friends human rights (dont know if this is the correct expresion) by filming and taking photos of them. So two cases, maybe peadophilia i know it seems a bit extreme but if people were taking pictures of your younger children/sisters youd be worried and also some sort of surveillance law of some sort?
Also now dont get the wrong impression of my sisters, they are not chavs/pikeys that go around causing nusiance, they dont do anything wrong. They hang outside the house which is in a rural area and they dont cause any trouble to anyone. All they are doing is being young, granted theyre drinking underage but im sure everyone has.
Thanks for your help.
Re: Surveillance Laws and Privacy
From what you have stated these neighbors called the police and said they have the pictures and video, so it seems safe to conclude that the police know they were taking the pictures.
