California Fraud Charges

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

I have a non extraditable warrant in the state of california for identity theft and fraud that ocurred in 2006. The fraud was for ten checks. I was trying to resolve this case while i was in the federal bureau of prisons in south dakota, on unrelated charge, but they would not extradite and would not let me plead guilty in absentee. i am now free and in new jersey and would like to return to california.
Is there a statue of limitations for these felonies? How long?
Since the warrant is still active what steps should I take before returning to california so I do not have to go back to jail?

As stated in the other thread, statute of limitations doesn't apply here (and even if it did it can toll for three years while you were in another state).

Your best bet is to contact a lawyer to arrange an appearance that won't involve bieng jailed for any extended period prior to going to court.
