Is Getting a Deferred Sentence a Probation Violation
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Arkansas and Oklahoma
About 7 months ago a got arrested for possession of marijuana in Arkansas and was put on probation.
I live in Oklahoma and just have to call in to my probation officer every two weeks.
My friend and I got pulled over a couple months ago and both were charged with possession of marijuana. We did not go to jail. I went to court yesterday and made a deal with the prosecutor (only because if i wanted to plea not guilty it would have cost me 6500 more dollars. which is ridiculous.) I got a deferred sentence until november 28, 2011. and my probation in arkansas ends december 8, 2010. Will my probation get revoked?
Re: Is Getting a Deferred Sentence a Probation Violation
In most cases probation requires you to inform them of any police contact, get permission to leave the state and to not be around any marijauna, even if it is "legal" in the case of a state medical card.
If anyone finds out you did any of these will likely be a violation of probation.
Re: Is Getting a Deferred Sentence a Probation Violation
i already told her about me getting the charge. she wanted to wait to find out if it was going to get dropped to do anything. i haven't told her anything about the outcome. i just talked to her and she said she's closing out my probation on the 8th. maybe she forgot about it? is she required to revoke it or can she just let it go?
