I have no such intent.....but it happened unfortunately....I have no clue on this issue.
If you have no intent, then return the plane ticket. If you keep it knowing you can't pay for it, that is intent. You have the opportunity to show you had or have no intent to take money you do not intend on repaying. Your failure to do so removes any question of intent. It makes it quite clear what your intent is.
Since you have an account at the same bank; you might look at; right of set off. If you do have an account with this bank and there is any money in it, well, let's say your credit card account may be brought current without your desire to do so. If this other account is an account you draw checks from, you might want to be sure there is money in it prior to writing any checks.
You keep checking on that ticket. January is a long way off. The airline is only going to confirm it as long as the charges aren't reversed and that only takes them a minute to do.

Thats the final option I've as of now....but was thinking if there is any chance to convince them and pay them back in full when I return in February.
Re: Can Collection Agencies Stop You from Travelling
and they should believe you now because you were honest when you said you would pay the bills when they sent them?
Sure, good luck with that.
and how long before they can sue you? Well, today is a business day so that would be today. It won't be today but it could be and any day after today the courts are open and they are able to file a suit. If they decide to sue you, it is up to them when.

actually I was given some date this month to pay a part amount before my file goes to collection agency....but I don't think I can make the payment by that date as it is too short period.....but I can pay them only after I return from my trip...the main purpose of my trip is get some money and pay off my debts here....
There will be exactly 32 days for my traveling date before my file goes to collection agency....I mean if I fail to pay by that specified date then my file would be given to collection agency...so is there any chance suing me in those 32 days.....

there would be a near zero chance of them suing you within a couple months.

I think I'm bit releaved now...but I'm still worried if they can stop me at airport if they don't cancel my ticket....I still have no intent of fraudulent.....I've a excellent credit history and very good track of payment history....this is the first time I was defaulted....I was on job till I made purchases of my travel ticket and other items....after that I got laid off....and told the same to the bank....and requested some time to pay them off in full.....I would be really disappointed if I cannot travel and post-pone for some more time...
Re: Can Collection Agencies Stop You from Travelling
How many times do you need to be told that, no, they can't stop you at the airport. TSA checkpoints may be a bit ridiculous these days, but you're not going to hear, "Excuse me, I'm a representative of MasterCard. Do you owe us money? Because if you do, I need to take you into custody."
