Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in Minnesota
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Minnesota... Clay County.
about a month ago a house I was living in with three other roomates got raided by the police. Among the things seized were just under 5 oz of marijuana & leafs, about $5800 or so, two scales, and about 10 pipes or so.
It has been about a month now and the only thing I have heard from the police is a para ticket I was sent in the mail (I have since moved from the area).
my ticket is statute 152.092.
I am starting a new job on monday and would prefer to just plead guilty to the ticket so I don't have to drive all the way back just to appear in court for a few hours (and miss a day of work).
My question is could this para ticket be for a scale, and then if I plead guilty to it they will come down on me with more serious charges? or is it only for a pipe? how do I find out?
I have a clean criminal record and obviously will get a lawyer if charged with anything more serious but I would like to avoid going to court if possible.
Any insight would be appreciated!!
Re: Possession of Para in Minnesota
If you go to court on the para charge (which is about the least you could be charged with) they can't come back after you for different charges from the same incident. However, you need to make sure there aren't charges already flied otherwise.
Re: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in Minnesota
thank you for the insight.
so basically I should probably just call and see what if any charges are pending against me, and if none then just pay the ticket?
