What is the legal amount of time for paying rent?
Hi my lease states if I were to pay my rent past the 3rd day of the month to add a 50.00 fee to the amount of my rent. for the the last two months I did just that.. well last month i was to pay my rent 10 days late and my landlord called me on the 11th day of the month very angry saying he is tired of helping me and that if I did not pay my rent the next day he would proceed with eviction. I told him that is not what the lease says that it just stated to add a fee, that i was not 30 days behind in rent at all but only 9 days.. he hung up on me. So I gave him a check that day. What is the legal amount of time in california a landlord can evict a person based on not paying rent on time?
Re: What is the legal amount of time ??
The fact that your lease provides for a late fee does not of itself mean you have the right to pay your rent late. You need to meet the deadline set forth in your lease. Details on California evictions are available here.

Thanks for the link. My lease is very simple and did not give any details about eviction notices.
