    My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: washington

    am a citizen and resident of canada and have a large outstanding sallie mae debt incurred while attending a US university. my co-signer is also canadian citizen and resident of canada. neither of us can repay the debt. sallie mae refuses to negotiate. the co-signer has already gone through a canadian consumer propsal to settle his canadian debt.
    what can i do? what can sallie mae do to me in canada/

    It is possible for a creditor to pursue you in Canada, if they believe the dollar amounts justify the effort.
