Termination with Last Chance Warning
This is for the State of Michigan.
My friend got fired from his job of 8 years. I knew he was getting tired of things, but he basically threw a temper tantrum. He had a Final Warning in August, then "Acted unprofesionally, removing his name badge, swearing, and stopping production".
Aside from this....he has many certificates of Monthly Perfect Attendance (which I have seen myself).
Patti, etc...do you think he will be able to collect unemployment? Or will he have to fight for it? Tips, advice appreciated, please and thank you :)
Re: Termination with Last Chance Warning
Ennnnnh. If there was already a paper trail documenting misconduct on his part, he's got the proverbial snowball's chance. Perfect Attendance means nothing if you've been written up to the point of "final warning".
Re: Termination with Last Chance Warning
If he's gotten to the point of a final warning, I'd say it's doubtful. I've seen some strange things come out of UI decisions, but I wouldn't be betting on this one.
Re: Termination with Last Chance Warning
wait wait wait! He did not get his last warning...lol...does not matter, MI is an at will state ... he should be able to get unemployment IMO ... post if he does
Re: Termination with Last Chance Warning
I had that feeling.
Thanks for the answers.....
