Buying a Gun

Actually, if you ARE a felon, you are not allowed to have ANY access to firearms. In other words, you can't borrow a gun or, really, be anywhere around them where you could have access.

You can check your own record or just go buy one and worry about it if the background check denies you.

There is no waiver process to this law in CA that I am aware of. You have a felony conviction, you cannot own, carry, or possess a firearm.

Uh ... you do realize that you are commiting a crime each and every time you use their guns, or a rented one?! As a felon you cannot touch one, either!

Speak to an attorney about the possibility of getting the offense expunged.

In addition, check your own record using the information at the link I posted earlier.

Just hope for the best and don't hold a gun until you find out the status . Since it was a knife,there a chance it might of only been a misdemeanor.

The charge for a knife on school grounds is a felony, but you are right it could have been filed or sentenced as a misdemeanor.
