Divorce: Can I Take the House
My question involves a marriage in the state of: Florida
My husband and I have been seperated for 11 years (married since 1996). He told me he had filed for divorce in the state he lives (Mn) and it was granted a few years ago. When I pushed for a divorce decree, he told me he had lied, and we are not divorced.
I am now in the process of adopting a little girl, and he refuses to help pay for a divorce. My question is, finding out that he has recently bought a house, can I threaten him with taking the house or anything? Am I entitles to anything since we are still married? I don't actually want to take anything from him, nor would I, I just want him to help pay for the divorce. I can't afford it right now.

You can threaten all you like. Won't get you anywhere - you've been separated and living apart for 11 years, it's not the marital home, so you have no claim on it.
