Can I Buy Guns After I Get Off of Probation
My question involves criminal law for the state of: michigan

i am supposed to get off papers this week, i want to buy a gun so i can hunt this fall, what are my odds the type of probation is hyta, for a felony drug charge. the court said that after successful completion of my probation, that the felony would not stick, can you give me some insight on what im dealing with here?

ask your lawyer. Nobody here can tell you if HYTA applies to you or not.

allow me to add that a felony conviction is typically a federal bar to the ownership of guns.

then why would you write this in your first post:

based on that, you don't know if you are on a HYTA program or not. Now you state matter of factly you are. Did something change?
