When is the Right Time to Apply for a Green Card
Hi..i am international student and came to US on F1 visa, already graduated and i am currently working full time under my OPT...i recently got married to my girlfriend who is a US citizen..our families are thinking to apply for my Green Card, but the issue is my girlfriend is still doing her bachelors in different state than where i work, she needs a year to finish up her studies before we get our own apartment and she comes to me permanently (we do meet each other on regular basis even now)...so could anyone please suggest/advice if it will be a problem if we apply for GC now, even though we are not living together right now coz of her studies??

Whenever you choose a post-marital lifestyle that will make people question if your marriage is bona fide, you put yourself at risk of having the USCIS determine that it is not.
Re: When is the Right Time to Apply for a Green Card
Thanks for the reply..i know its little tricky as she i still in school in different state..we have common bank account, credit card, phone bill, pictures with families and travel records of us meeting each other frequently etc..so we are thinking of going ahead with filling the papers..for that i have some question -
1) After filing I-130 and I-485, do we need to file I-864, as i have been in US for last 2 years and paid taxes and have sufficient income now to support my citizen wife!!
2) As mentioned before, i am currently on my OPT working full time and have my EAD which i valid till next year (i am eligible for 17 month OPT extension as well after that as my employer is E-verified). Still do i need to file for I-765 and have to get a new work authorization?
3) I have valid SSN which i got from my on-campus employment. Do i need to get new SSN as someone told me that SSN is not valid for off campus employment once my OPT ends?
