How to Receive Restitution from Theft and Destruction of Property
My question involves personal property located in the State of: PA
I am a college student, and 10 days ago someone boke into my dorm room and stole me and my roommates laptops as well as some other property. This person was intoxicated and did not keep our property. Instead, he completely destroyed it beyond repair. This person was identified and admitted guilt, however, he has not made any attempt at reimbursing us for our losses. Approximately $2400 in damage was done to my property. We filed a police report 7 days ago with the local police.
My questions are: How do I go about recieving restitution for my losses? What do I do now? Does this fall under small claims court juridiction?

Talk to the prosecutor who is handling the case or, if the prosecutor's office has one, the victim's rights officer at the prosecutor's office.
