Title Edit is Needed, but Seller Won't Sign the Affidavit
My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of: Illinois

The vehicle was bought in Toledo, OH, and I brought it back to Illinois. The title was signed and addressed by the seller where he should have put mine. I acquired the affidavit to fix it and signed it, and then passed it along to the seller. The seller is dragging his feet on sending it back. The seller is unfamiliar with the process and leaving the country in less than a week. I am planning on having the dmv contact him and telling him that it is the procedure. If he refuses to sign, what are my options here? I think his wife is going to still be in the country but it is his name on the title. I just want to prepare for every possible scenario. Is there any legal way to get past needing a signature of a person that is out of country and thereby basically unreachable?

If you can't get him to convey proper title you can sue him to try to get your money back.
