Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle
My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: california
I was on the freeway and saw a car pulled over to the left shoulder by a CHP. The car he pulled over suddenly pulled onto the freeway in a diagonal movement across the lanes causing the car in front of me to veer right. The CHP pulled onto the freewayl into the fast lane (I was in the 2nd to fast lane). The CHP pulled in front of me and then back into the fast lane. He did have his lights on but no siren. My four female passengers and I were starteled and thought he was conducting a traffic break. I was freaked by cars going everywhere. The CHP moved backed into the fast lane slowed to be next to me and then got on his speaker and told me to pull over and get behind the original car he had pulled over to the inside shoulder. I had no idea what was going on. He came over to my passenger window and proceeded to scream at me for not moving to the right lane of the freeway and yielding to him. He frightened all of us with his aggressive behavior. He gave me a ticket for failing to yield. It was 7:30pm at dusk on the I-15 on a Friday night. There was a lot of traffic. As the car in front of me swerved to avoid the car that he originally pulled over I was trying to maintain my position safely and avoid an accident. He said he had to make this woman move from the left shoulder (there was a large open area in the shoulder) to the right shoulder to "safely" write her a speeding ticket). I would like to fight this ticket.
