Ordinance Violation as a Probation Violation
I have been on court supervision for almost a year now....I am at college getting my degree. I recieved this supervision back home in Illinois but I violated a city ordinance for disorderly conduct at my school which is also in Illinois.

I have been reading up online about how ordinances are just civil tickets and non-criminal offenses but I'm scared this will come up in court and they will enter a conviction because of this city ordinance violation.

I go back to court this summer and I was wondering if city ordinances count against court supervision when I will be returning to court this summer to hopefully have the charges dismissed.

Thanks for the help cause this could ruin my life if I have a conviction that cannot be expunged from my record

    Re: Court Supervision Question
City ordinance violations are not always civil infractions. Further, the terms of your probation may be worded such that even a civil infraction for disorderly conduct would be a probation violation. There is a possibility that the court wouldn't learn of a civil infraction in another county, but you would have to ask an Illinois criminal defense lawyer to know what is likely to happen in the counties at issue in your case.
