Discovery of a 10 yr. old warrant
Early in 2005 my car was stolen while I was living in ohio. When the police showed up he asked me when I was going to get this warrant taken care of. He said that I had a warrant out of florida since 1995 for poss. of cocaine(less than a quarter gram) I asked him if he was going to take me to jail and he told me he couldn't touch me!!! Another big surprise. I left florida under the impression that I was done with my probation and even did so with my probation officer's blessings. What a backstabbing S.O.B. He is still with the probation dept. and after many attempts to contact him and leave my number and everything he refuses to talk/correspond with me. The probation office confirmed the warrant after they dug it up on microfiche, MICROFICHE!!! Unbelievable. How in the hell can this be legitimate? I now live in alabama and have my own small business to run. I cannot afford to lose it by going to jail over something that was rightfully over 10 yrs. ago. Oh to kick it all off they've added an absconding charge to it too! Self-serving bastards! Anyhow as you can see I am in a tight spot and need some help here. Any suggestions? Thanx

You should consider having a lawyer in the county where the warrant was issued try to find out the basis of the apparent probation violation, and try to resolve the case for you.
Re: Discovery of a 10 yr. old warrant
I did that and they told me to send them $2,500 and they would arrange for me to go in front of the judge the next day after I spent the night in jail. He would say nothing as far as what he could do to keep me out of jail. For $2,500 he's gonna have to do a lot better than that!!!!!

Call a few other lawyers.

Warrants are rarely resolved without a booking and an appearance before a judge. You are almost certainly going to have spend a little time or make a couple of appearances in court there to get it taken care of.
