Putting Husbands Name on Birth Certificate
My question involves adoption law for the State of: New York
My Mom adopted a child in the beginning of 2010. My Mom and Dad are separated, but never divorced. My Mom and Dad now want to add his name to my sister's birth certificate (she's six years old now). Should that cause a problem? My Mom adopted this little girl while she was living alone so my Dad's name is not on the birth certificate now.

Did Mom adopt as a single parent?

If the adoption was done only for your mother, then your father will also have to file an adoption petition.
Actually, the best thing to do will be for your parents to take all of the adoption papers to a local attorney for a consult.

LOL, I see that you did change your location, now if I could just get that song out of my head.
