This alone means you're not a candidate for emancipation.
Besides that, in Florida, it's your PARENTS who have to initiate the petition for emancipation. If one or the other objects, it won't happen.
Why is your dad so keen on you becoming emancipated? Are you at all capable of supporting yourself 100%, with no help at all, as is required by law?
Re: Can My Dad Get Me Emncipated
If BOTH your parents do not sign the petition for your emancipation, AND you are unable to show the judge how you are able to be completely support yourself (paying all your own rent, food, utilities, medical care, insurance, transportation, school fees and supplies, staples (shampoo, toilet paper, etc.), and so on) while still going to school and getting better than average grades, emancipation will be denied. Emancipation is rare and is designed for those limited circumstances when a minor is, through no fault of their own, find themselves living alone. It is neither a way for a minor to leave home early or a means for a parent to cease paying for the minor's support.
