    Shoplifting in North Carolina
I wasn't sure what to put for the title, sorry.

A few months ago I posted a thread, stating that I was caught at Walmart for shoplifting in NC. Well I've already had my punishment, paid my costs, and everything.
Walmart wanted to charge my boyfriend with the same thing I was charged with even though he had no involvement, he didn't even know I did it. He wasn't with me when I did it. Anyways, he is still going to court, it's been continued 3 or 4 times now. Now, he's going back to court aug. 31st for deferred prosecution. He is making an appointment w/ his lawyer next wk. b/c he does not want to do this. He does not want to be punished for something he did not do, or even knew about. It may not be on his record, but he doesn't want to pay money and do probation and all that for something he had no knowledge of.
I am going to go with him to his appt. w/ his lawyer. I am going to make sure he knows that my bf didn't know that I shoplifted. I don't know if that will help or not, but I figured I could try.
Walmart has no proof at all. It's just his word against hers. They didn't even search him or anything whenever I was caught.
What should he do in order to possibly get this case dismissed?
    Any other words of advice?

Sorry this is so long. I tried to shorten it, but wanted to explain most of everything.

    Thank you in advance

He was with you in the store. Unfortunately, in many cases, a shoplifter will have someone with them who will act as a lookout, or walk around elsewhere as a distraction.

Unfortunately for your boyfriend, the prosecutors and judges have heard the "I didn't know she was shoplifting" thing so many times that it's hard to believe anymore.

Best you can do is to tell his lawyer that he did not know you were shoplifting; and offer to testify in court, also. And maybe pick up your boyfriends legal fees.
