it just doesn't make any logical sense why 1 day should change everything from good to evil, im not tryin to have a kid by any means at this time. it just seems flawed that one would be arrested for having sex with a minor, but if they had a child and went to court, that wouldn't be an issue. i don't feel like getting arrested thats why i DID ask these questions, not to be stupid. i have alot to already worry about and i know it isn't wise to stay trying to be with her, but i still love her and honestly don't want to let go for 2 years, i wouldn't care if she didn't, if she didn't want to be with me or didn't want to try to live with me than it wouldn't be as hard to leave

i just want to find a way to make this work, her mom would be more likely to let us be married but her father is a drunk and would never let it happen, he isn't in the sam state if that matters

Batty, I have a simple question for you.

    Why can't you wait?

because i don't want to loose what we have now. and distance does do it. i don't care who you are, long enough on the phone, eventually you don't know who the other person is anymore. people change and i wish to change with her and to spend my life with her.
i don't want to be alone for 2 years and i don't want to look for another person to be with.
when you make a decision to have sex for a first, or you make the decision to be with someone. why should your intentions be other than spending the life you have left with them,
i don't want 2 years apart to tear us slowly apart

So...what about what's best for her? All you've talked about is you. Nothing about her.

Do you honestly think that pregnancy and marriage are best for her right now?

    Really?

    Why?

marriage she don't mind jumping at, she just don't want a kid now, she wants to come with me and she wants to go to the school by where i moved not the school thats near her, but she doesn't want her family to abandon her. shes been tryin all she can to get them to listen or understand but nothing really works well, thats why im on here now cause she wanted me to look up stuff to see how she could get emancipated
she stays with me every chance she gets anyways...half the time she doesn't want to be home

    She cannot be emancipated.

There isn't a court in the land which will emancipate a minor in order for her to go and live with her boyfriend.

Did you even read the sticky threads? Do you have any idea what it takes?

Is she working full time? FULLY supporting herself? Paying her own rent, utilities, food, gas, and still going to school and getting better-than-average grades? Can she pay her own health and car insurance? Gas money?

Honestly - you need to back the heck off, leave her alone and let her grow up by herself.

Neither of you are even vaguely mature enough to be living by yourselves.

If you really care for this CHILD you'll stay away from her.

But heck - we both know that's not going to happen, right?

I note you didn't answer my questions.

Do what you want with your life. But please if you have any decency at all, stay away from the child.

Sure she did. It just isn't the one you wanted to hear, is all.

No, 16 year olds in Florida cannot marry without the consent of both parents. Period. Law says NO. Go on and get married if you want, since you're stomping your little feet about it up there, but won't your girlfriend be a bit upset that you couldn't be bothered to wait for her? 'Cause if you're "gunna get married" right now, it won't be to her.

And gods, child, learn some spelling and grammar.

No, your girlfriend cannot be emancipated in the state of Florida without explicit permission of her parents and the demonstrated ability to support herself, with no help from anyone at all, 100%.

Age of consent in Florida is 18. The law says shut your legs/keep it in your pants until you're legally an adult.

Why? Because The Law Says So.

It's not about Twue Wove, it's about keeping kids from doing stupid things or being victimized by adults who should know better.

in florida is there ANY way to marry a 16 and 18 yr old WITH/without concent?

    No. There is not.

Nowhere in the US can a minor under the age of 18 be married without parental consent, judicial consent, or both. Pregnant or not.

Oh, and in Florida, to be emancipated any way but through marriage or joining the active armed forces (both of which require parental consent) THE PARENTS have to file the petition.

So emancipation of any sort ain't gonna happen, kiddo. Keep your pants zipped.
