Accused of Embezzlement from a Major Retailer
My question involves criminal law for the state of: California. I am a Manager at a major retailer and I am being accused of stealing $2,200 form the deposit that I prepared. I found out about this accusation while I was at home. Loss Prevention was in my store looking over the survailance video for that exact moment when I prepared the deposit. I recieved a call from our Head LP, he stated that i need to come into the store to talk to him about this but i did not. He stated that he watched the video and did not see me steal the money but he did no that it was me that took it. He wanted me to tell him where i put the money, how i took it out of the store? and... how i spent the money? I replied that I had no idea what he was talking about. I have not been to work since my son came down with whooping caugh, for abot a week now. I look pretty guilty now but i want to know what charges can be braught against me for this.
Re: Accused of Embezzlement from a Major Retailer
They can charge you with Embezzlement, if they believe they have the proof.
You need to consult with a Criminal Defense Lawyer.
Be sure to have records pertaining to your son's illness, and how you had no one else to care for him.....
