    Identity Theft from Family Member
Hello, 2 years ago I was a victem of identity theft by my sister. In the span of 3 years, she took out 2 loans and 7 credit cards in my name. When i found out, i was pressured to accept the dept and pay it off. I did!

Now my mother's husband has fallen victem. She stole his debit card numbers for his business accound and whipped him out. Unlike my situation, she actually used his money to pay bills and her mortgage.

She's a married house wife with 3 young kids. Her husband works! He's not rich, but he works. She's got serious issues with money and would steal to get it.

I believe she's done this to her kids. She had easy access to their ss number, why wouldn't she start with them. I have no way of finding this info out. I can't get access to their credit report tho I do have their ss numbers. I don't want to obtain info illegally.

My moms husband turned her in and we're awaiting to see what happens next. This is her first offence. On the surface, she's a good mom with healthy loving children. You would NEVER know she has problems like this.

She lives in the state of PA. Will she do time????

She needs a bit of name and shame and community service. But nobody wants to see her kids without a mom while she rots in jail.

    Thank you!!

You're describing a remorseless, habitual criminal, not somebody who deserves a break.

You can review your state's sentencing guidelines here.

Thank you for your reply! I think she has mental issues, she really doesn't realise what she has done.

I don't understand the link you sent me, but i'm assuming with no priors, she won't do the maximum.

    Thank you!
