DSS Sharing False Accusation by Daughter Post-Termination of Parents Rights
    Virginia.
To make a long story short.
My daughter, which we gave up parental rights, is being petitioned for custody by my parents, which is fine and live in Del.
The virginia DSS sent a letter to the DSS in Del. which totall thru my parents under the bus and contained various lies.
My mother has seen this letter and is trying to get a copy.
Is this legal for Virginia DSS to send something like this knowing it has harmful accusations?
    Thanks

Re: Issue with Dept of Social Serv
There were unfounded accusations that were levied against me by my daughter. The court found there was no evidence and dissmissed. She is 15 and no matter how bad it sounds we could not go thru this again financialy or emotionaly as a family so we relinquished rights.
My mother parents stepped in to take custosdy. DSS is being so vindictive because they didnt get the verdict they wanted they are out right lying to the Del. DSS about my parents. The Del. DSS stated they couldnt believe half of what was in the letter. DSS stated in the letter that Va. dss felt my parents home was unsafe because my parents didnt believe my daughter and also has been passing false info to my daughter about my parents.
I am just trying to find out if this is comin in the DSS world where they go out of there way to make false accusations about a potentional perons?

I understand this. I am just asking for my mother.
Way are we attacking me. She is just wondering if
something illegal has been done and my pursue a lawsuit against DSS.
She does have witnesses and facts about this.
How did this go from a ques. about DSS to attacking me ?

You're not being attacked at all.

However, I'll answer your question anyway.

You have no case against DSS; "no evidence" doesn't mean that DSS is obliged to destroy, hide or restrict their records. They have the right to forward everything to another agency in another State. They have the right to forward documents containing allegations and/or suspicions. DSS in another state has the right to act upon those allegations, or not. But there will likely be an investigation.

    Does that answer your question?

I don't think you do understand actually - honestly, it comes across as if you're trying to find a legal loophole so you can have access to a child who is nothing to you at all, legally speaking.

I find it difficult to believe a Del. DSS caseworker would tell you - or your mother - that they "don't believe half of what was said". That would be completely unprofessional and unethical.

Re: Issue with Dept of Social Serv
You're stating that to facilitate an investigation by another social services agency, the agency that originally handled your daughter's case sent them a letter accurately summarizing your daughter's accusations against your parents?

    Mr knowitall.
I dont know how this got turned around but, I know she is not our daughter.
We have no contact know and dont wish to have any in the near future.
She has tried to contact us but we stay clear.
I know that DSS has the right to send anything they have to Del. DSS about the situation, but to inject there opinion with our right lies and false hoods that can be proven fasle.
Yes Dominque the Del. DSS worker found it highly unethical borber criminal with the letter that was written to them.
Mr. Knowitall, the letter that was sent was not even close. It was full off false hoods and lies and was based on there vendictiveness and nothing to do with the case, Thats my point.

    I'm sorry.

I'm not buying this at all.

Hence I'll politely back out of the thread.
