Emergency Motion for Temporary Change of Custody
My ex husband file an emergency motion for temporary change of custody order and I wanted to answer back on my own because I am not able to afford to hire a lawyer. I would like to defend myself and not accused of things that he said on the petition. We have arrrangement in placed before I send my son to his grandparents but that family arrangement was not mentioned instead my ex husband took advantage of it and play me dirty. If the court will award him custody of my son and find that he is a better father then I will let go but I would like to say something to the court and I want to be heard before the final decision. The petition actually said I have 20 days to response, How can I do it? Please help! (State of Georgia)

also, i would ask the clerk of the court what motion you would file. in colorado here it is called a verified motion to modify parenting time. i would definitely look up this website and contact the court clerk in the family division. Also, there are some self help websites on this pages too
Re: Emergency Motion for Temporary Change of Custody
Court clerks cannot tell you which motion you should file.
They can - once YOU tell them, OP, what you need - direct you to the correct forms.
But they absolutely cannot tell you which motion you should file.
That would be illegal.

Re: Emergency Motion for Temporary Change of Custody
I called the Judge office and direct me to the court clerk to look up the case. I ask for forms or anything how to response and what I have to do. The clerk told me that there is no forms that the court have in place and if I dont response, it only means that agree with the decision. I was advised to write anything I want to say to the judge and she gave me the address... I created a letter and I plan just to submit it. Goodluck to me, I put this way...THINGS HAPPEN FOR A REASON. THANKS TO ALL.!!!
