Male Companion Living in My Home
My question involves a roommate in the State of: New Hampshire
I apologize, I am a newbie and not sure if this is the correct forum, if not pls feel free to redirect me.

To be succinct, I own my condo. Male companion has an apt in different state, yet basically stays here at my condo all of the time. He does NOT pay for anything at my condo. No rent, no food, etc. He does have all of his bills, with his name on them sent to my condo address. In addition, his checks have my condo address on them, NOT my name, not a shared bank account,
just my condo address. In addition when filing w/ IRS, as well, uses my address.

My credit is impeccable, he has NO credit. Can I be made liable for any of his bills as he's using my address? Want to get rid of him, the sooner the better..no contracts signed.

Any help would be so much appreciated!

    Thank you ALL!

from what you said; no, you would not be liable for his bills. To get rid of him, unless he leaves willingly, you will have to evict him per your states landlord tenant laws.

Only if you are a signer on the accounts. You're no more responsible for your tenant's bills than any other landlord would be responsible for their tenant's bills.

As for evicting him, you'll need to serve him proper written notice that you are terminating the tenancy and he has 30 days to vacate. If he doesn't leave, you'll need to initiate formal eviction procedures.

    Dear LawReseacher..

A he just lives here, no rent, no payment to me of any kind, no contract, would this still be considered a tenant/landlord relationship? Also I'm concerned when he files his income tax, he uses my home address..is that something to be worried about?

    Many Thanks!

Yes. He's clearly getting mail there, so he's your tenant, whether you collect rent or not.

No more so than the library should be concerned if he uses that for his mailing address.

You have no responsibility for his bills or taxes.
