What Will The Store Do About Price Switching
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Virginia
Can you help me please. i switch the price tag at the outlet store and walk away without any problem, I paid with credit card, but woman, a cashier was looking a little strange at me because price was a little low for this item but she didn't say anything. nobody stop me or ask anything. I was so stupid, I never will do this again, I do have a daughter and I don't know why I could even think to do this. I am so worry that they will looking tapes or somehow try to come to me after. Is this common that they will looking for you after you left the store?. Thank you.
Re: After Price Switching
They certainly CAN. Whether or not they WILL is not something any of us can answer for you.
You'd do well to 1) stay far, far, far away from that store and 2) stop stealing. Yes, price tag switching is stealing. Knock it off.
Re: After Price Switching
Thank you for the an answer. I know that I never will do this again. My life now broken. I so much worry that police will shows up. Still do you know if the stores do this often to looking for someone who switch price after a few days or weeks after? or this is not common? and another question if they will looking for me, police just will come to my home? and what should I say, I did it or didn't? Thanks again
Re: After Price Switching
If nobody was watching security tapes when you did it AND nobody suspected you do anything dishonest, then there is low chance that they will review the tapes later and try to identify you. Even if they review the tapes, they may not go after you if the dollar value was low. But it is definitely possible that they may. Like Missy said, stay away from that store.
Admission of guilt in such case is not a good idea. The store may not have a very good evidence against you, so don't just give police a free admission if they show up. But they probably won't, so just stop switching tags.
