Warrant for DUI Probation Violation
Howdy all,
I reside in Illinois, am on probation from Michigan for DUI. I was recently notified that there is a warrant from Michigan for violating my probation. Conditions of my probation - report to my probation officer on a monthly basis, pay my fine, attending AA sessions. I failed to report to my probation officer the last 3 months, paid my fines last week and started attending AA sessions 3 weeks back. My probation officer is not aware of the last 2 conditions that I have met and has issued the warrant. I will not be able to talk to her or meet her untill Tuesday or Wednesday.
How can I avoid getting arrested other than staying out of trouble (Do I need to get legal help-attorney?)
Does this warrant hold good in Illinois? Can I get arrested in Illinois for a warrant issued in Michigan?
If my probation officer refuses to drop my warrant, what kind of legal help should i get?
I did not receive a copy of the warrant but I got a copy of the probation extension from the court.
Any help on this would be appreciated

Re: Warrant for probation violation
It's possible, but quite unlikely, that the warrant would be enforced in Illinois. The warrant may even have a limited pickup radius for Michigan. It costs counties money to bring a defendant back for court proceedings, and thus sometimes they limit the warrant to a particular geographic area.
It would probably be a good idea to consult a lawyer in regard to the probation violation, perhaps the lawyer who assisted you with the original charge.
