I Let Him Back After I Made a Ppo, is It Too Late to Press Assult Charges
My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan
I had a PPO on my husband but let him come back around me when I broke my foot and had no one to help me with the kids, that and pressure that I was making a mistake. Only some weeks later he assaulted me. I called the police twice but they never came. Its a month later and I want to finally make a report and press charges, I didnt before because his family begged me not to and told me I would only hurt our kids. Will anything even happen, Will I only look stupid in the end because I let this happened??

    Hi there.

I'm gonna be kinda blunt. For the record, I have been in an abusive relationship.

You got a PPO...you let him come back. You send in that you want to drop the PPO. Now you want a new PPO.....

No matter how much you need help with the kids in any situation...you need to find another source for needed help....and that person should not be the person you have the PPO on! No matter how desperate the situation seems.

Check out your local Department of Community Health. Your local domestic abuse shelters.

And PS: You are stronger than you think.

And the police and courts are not going to let you use them this way.

You file, then you invite back (which, by the way, doesn't absolve your ex from violating the order), then you rescind the order and then you want another one.
