Does a Child Have the Right to End Visitation
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: TX

I could really use some guidance. I have sole physical custody of our 13 year old daughter. The relationship between her and her father is not good, at times very difficult on her. Her father has stated to her on more than on occasion that at the age of 13 she can now choose who she wants to live with, she can also request not visit it is her choice. When she brought this to my attention I told her I was not sure about this and left it go. Things have gone from bad worse with other things her father and stepmother have told our daughter, not to mention the arguments and inappropriate behavior she has witnessed. When it's time for her to pack for her visits with her dad you can see how much pain she is in and does not want to go, at times she has reacted yelling at me telling she feels I am forcing her to go when she does not want to. Please tell me at what age can she choose to cancel visits and how would I go about this. Thank you,

Per your post, the age would be 18.

Although Texas MAY take into consideration a teens wishes, depending on the maturity and statements of said teen....There needs to be a Change of Circumstance for a motion to be brought before the court.

I would suggest placing your daughter in counseling to help her with her issue with Dad.
