No original copies of anything
My husband has been in the us since 1980. We only have photo copies of his green card, and social security card. I need to know what I need to get new copies of these cards. I do not have a copy of his birth certificate either. He was born in Peru. He had a DWI in 2003 so he is not eligialbe for citizen ship until 2009. But I would like to get these things taken care of now. We would also loke to visit his granfather who is ill in Peru, but I don't know what he would need to get back into the country. Please help.
Re: No original copies of anything
He would have to get any Peruvian legal documents from Peru.
The USCIS offers information on getting a replacement Green Card:
Quote:
Quoting Replacing Lost or Damaged Card.
If your card has been lost, stolen, damaged or you never received it, bring a copy of your card, if you have one, to your in person appearance at your local ASC. If you do not have a copy and are at least 18 years old, you must bring an identity document, such as a driver's license, passport or a copy of another document containing your name, date of birth, photograph and signature to your in person appearance at your local ASC.
