I am very curious to find out this secret yet undeniable database of Detroit area criminal statistics that is only available to a 15 year old Floridian.

My guess is that you'll find it in a place that only our dear OP thinks smells like roses.

I'm actually kind of disappointed that she didn't. My son likes to show the emancipation threads to his friends, and they all find it terribly entertaining when we get one to flip out and call us names.

Me too. I'm in Detroit on a nearly weekly basis - because I am a sucker for Slow's Barbecue, the Sweetwater Tavern, and the Eastern Market - and I've yet to wander into any of those venues to find that 85% of the staff and regular customers have been murdered.

You'd think a city with a murder rate that high would at least be on the local news.
