Caught Shoplifting Almost Two Years Ago
My question involves criminal law for the state of: California.
I was caught shoplifting at Target when I was 15, I'm 17 now. They called the police because my parents took too long. But they said I had to pay a fine ( around $350), which I did. They said they would not press charges. Would this appear on my criminal record or anything. I'm trying to get a job right now.

If they never pressed charges, then you have no criminal record. The $350 was likely a civil demand; there is no criminal record from a civil case.
Re: Caught Shoplifting Almost Two Years Ago
where you taken to the police station and fingerprinted/photographed? I was caught shoplifting, I paid my fine and the security officer at the store told me they wouldn't call the cops on me, however, I would have to go to court and to the police station to be processed. I never received anything from the courthouse though, so I am not sure if I have a misdemeanor on my record or not, because I was processed.
