Custodial Parent is Moving Out of State
My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Ga
My ex wife is the custodial parent, although we share joint custody. I have normal visitation of every other weekend. In our divorce decree there is nothing mentioned about moving out of state. She give me a letter of her intentions of moving. Can she just pick up and leave Ga and go to Md without a change in the visitation order?
Re: Custodial Parent Moving Out of State
What are Mom's reasons for moving?
Re: Custodial Parent Moving Out of State
She supposedly has a new job. She just changed jobs here about a month ago. The only family my children will have there is their aunt. The childrens ages are 13 and 8. The new address she has given cannot be googles or located anywhere on a map.

Go down to the courthouse and file a motion contesting her plans to move.
Then, the Judge will decide if she will be allowed to move the children away from you.
If you agree to the move, or if the court issues an order allowing the move, the visitation order will need to be modified.
