Roommate Release for Deposit
My question involves a security deposit in the State of: California
My roommates(its 3 of us) and I all paid our rent for this month, I was informed the other day that one roommate had moved out leaving me and the other roommate there. Other roommate is moving and I am transfering to a one bedroom apartment on the same property on June 1. The manager says she can just transfer my deposit and pet deposit to the new place but that she needs the signature of all the roommates on a release form to do so. Otherwise I get nothing back. Now I have no idea where the other guy moved to and have no way to get into contact with him. Can they keep all my deposit even though Im just moving to a different building? BTW we are paying month to month
Re: Roommate Release for Deposit
So what exactly is it that you're telling us? You're asking to be released from an ongoing lease for the other unit so you can move into a different apartment, and the landlord is requiring your roommates to agree to your being released from the current lease?
Re: Roommate Release for Deposit
She says they need his signature in order for them to transfer my deposit to the new apartment
