My husband's neice confronted him with wanting us to adopt the baby that she is pregnant with. Since she was raped, she does not know who the father is. We want to adopt her baby when it is born and need to know what procedures we need to go through in order to make this happen leagally for both parties. Do we need to try to pressure her in finding out who the father is in order to terminate his rights? How long does it typically take for an adoption of a family member to take?

No she did not report the rape and there are no convictions or legal issues that she is going to pursue in reguards to the rape.
