    Default Why Was Bail Increased

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Washington State

My boyfriend had a warrant for theft 3 went to jail before Christmas, but then as another warrant issued for failure to appear. He got arrested Friday but neither I nor his family members have received a call from anyone informing us, the only reason i knew is because i found it online.

He has three charges of criminal trespass 2 now, two of which are $2 each for bail and one is $5000... If someone could please clarify to me why there are multiple charges of the same thing (they were all charged on the same day) and why one is so much higher? also, does this mean he has had court dates already?

I have been tracking where there moving him and this morning, before bail increased he was moved to the seattle main correctional annex and the hotline number for the correctional facility never goes through to an operator... is there any other way i can find out visiting information and any other information possible?

Please let me know, this guy is my best friend.

The police never call relatives or anyone else because someone is arrested. That is the detained person's responsibility.

Different charges have different bail. These amounts are set by statute. You can be sure that a failure to appear will have a high bail and that charge will also make it less likely that bail can be reduced. The arrest info online will show the statutory bail, assuming there is bail. Once the person goes to court, their attorney can ask that bail be reduced.

Jail visiting rules and hours are almost always posted online these days.

You need a new best friend.

Bail, it would appear, was increased because your friend failed to appear in court and was charged with additional crimes. When you commit multiple crimes, even if for the same offense, you can be charged with each crime you commit.

You can learn visiting hours from the jail where your friend is housed, and perhaps from the jail website.

Washington is a bail state and most all bail bondsman will have this information available (visitation). Just be sure to tell them you will be interested in bonding him out so you will get a better response.
